Sport runs through the genes of the Butler family with Will an all-rounder, who scored two tries on his England U17 debut against France and then played his first game at U18 level against the corresponding French team in February last year.

Butler, who started off at Ledbury Rugby Club, played 46 minutes for the Warriors in a 19-12 defeat to Russian side Enisei-STM in the European Challenge Cup in 2016.

Remarkably, his U20 baptism was also against Les Bleus in February 2017, which he celebrated with a try, followed by another against Wales at Colwyn Bay six days later. Will played in all five matches in the 2017 World Rugby U20 Championship in Georgia, starting four of them.

Since then Butler has featured in the Anglo-Welsh Cup for Worcester and was once again named in the England U20 squad.

In December 2018, he signed a two-year first-team deal with Worcester Warriors.

Butler suffered a further setback when he sustained an ankle injury on his seasonal debut at Bath in September 2019 and was ruled out for four months.

He returned to action against Enisei-STM in the European Challenge Cup in January 2020 as a second half replacement and marked his return with a try.

As of May 2020, he has made 12 appearances for Worcester and has scored 15 points.
