New Zealand and Australia head into the break all square at 8-8 after a crazy first half. Australia got off to the perfect start with a try just two minutes, but New Zealand hit back five minutes later with a try to level it up at 5-5. An Australian penalty put the hosts ahead around the midpoint of the half 8-5. The All Blacks then picked up a red card 22 minutes in to play the remainder of the match with 14 players. Despite their numerical disadvantage, the All Black leveled matters with a penalty to make it 8-8. It was then the Wallabies turn to receive a red card at the 34 minute mark as they too went down to 14 players. New Zealand applied some relentless pressure in the closing minutes of the half but failed to score, despite Australia going down to 13 players after picking up a yellow card. All to play for in the second half, Australia will start it with 13 players and New Zealand 14.
