Why?

Hate to say it, but Newcastle look to be the better team. Come on Irish wake up!!!

That's half time. Still all to play for in this second half. The key moment of the half being the intercept try from Watson. Newcastle have dominated the stats on the number carries and have looked more threatening with ball in hand. Irish will need more imagination if they hope to unlock the Falcons defence. Stay tuned for all the second half updates.

Falcons pick up some steam but a huge defensive effort from Irish denies them from short range. Tiesi is forced into touch.

Big clearing kick from Geraghty.

McGuigan takes an nice line and breaks up to the 22. Falcons line up out wide but there's a knock on and Irish get the feed.

Steele's high box kick is collected by the Falcons who look to go wide.

Tonks is replaced once again. Irish maul out of their 22.

come on you Irish!!

High tackle from Geraghty on Hammersley. Falcons find position on the Irish 10m..
