Awful decision
Aweful?? It was not a foul?
The Ref is rubbish
Poor call. This ref has been poor on both sides
Never a red! So poor
Inexperienced. He's quoting rules word for word. Definitely not a red card
Whilst a nasty knockout it wasn't intentional and this has just ruined a good game of rugby. Not a chance for wasps now with 14 men.
And I'm a wasps fan
What? Kicked North in the head after he scored his try. Could have jumped. Absolutely spot on. Disgraceful behaviour.
Joke refereeing. Complete over reaction and pressure from crowd. Last time we should see this ref for a while in the top flight
Don't feed the troll
Could never have jumped - Austin healer has it right
Yellow card at most. Pretty harsh
Should have been red earlier for the dump tackle too
Nasty accident at most - Hughes is a clean player
Never even a penalty
Joke Ref, awful decision that has ruined the game, go on and win Wasps and that school kid should not ref anymore.
He was stopping
Anyone who has ever playedknows thats not a red
Penalty I would say. Yellow card possibly. Not an issue if north hadn't been knocked out in the six nations
Shocking decision by TMO and ref
Hopefully Wasps will appeal.
Correct decision
Referee has just ruined a good game of rugby. Complete neutral here. Inexperience showing through here. Crumbling under pressure from the crowd. Terrible.
Well said
That was never a red. It was just unavoidable contact. worse thing is it has lost north to saints now for a few weeks with the concussion laws.
Tmo also knew it wasn't a red but didn't have the guts to say anything.
He has three premiership games to his name. Why would he ref a game against two huge clubs?!
The TMO agreed. It knocked a man out. Therefore a red card. Player safety is the biggest issue at the moment.
Yeh the refs under huge pressure from Hartley and the gardens are in his ear the whole time. Almost like he gave it so they'd leave him alone
Completely disagree with a red. The left leg of Hughes was clearly straightened suggesting that he was indeed trying to slow himself down.
A man of Hughes's stature takes a longer to slow down when in top speed.
Unfortunately a brilliant fixture has been upset by a decision made by crumbling under pressure.
deserved to be sent off. Hope George is OK
I think the red was well deserved
Henry Southgate, you are a joke
Awful decision. Ref has been pressured by Hartley from the whistle. TMO gave him the opportunity to re-think but still didn't. This could be a huge call come the end of the season. Get this school boy out of top flight rugby.
It was never a red
Nathan Hughes had it coming
And a "dump" tackle is perfectly legal
Red card Defo for Hughes
He was planting his foot to
Decelerate and his shin connected not his foot not his knee if you know anything about biomechanics that was not deliberate never a red
unfortunate incident and poor decision which will ruin the game. had potential to be a cracker as well
As a saints fan, I don't think it was a red bcos it was accidental. Yet, it was pretty stupid from hughes
Anthony I don't think the red knows anything about rugby let alone biomechanics lol
Not a red and has now changed this game so much. Going to be a massive 40 coming up
errrr i dunno man, im on the fence here and im a saints fan, player safety biggest issue just feel hughes could have troed to do more
Fair shout matt
Almost 50 people put a comment on here and only oneof you say hope George is ok. What the **** is the matter with you all for God sake.
Hope George and Rhys will be ok. Lots of bad knocks tonight
What for
it doesn't matter if it's accidental. He shouldn't use his feet to win the ball there. It's dangerous when north is 100% scoring a try. If he'd dived with hands it's fine. But using your feet anywhere on the pitch to win the ball is illegal. Red may be harsh though
Red card Defo
What happened?
Hope the big taff is alright, but that wasn't a red.
Just seen the play and as a neutral its not a red but I think a yellow should of been shown instead
Was it a bad hit anyone can anyone tell me please
He kicked north in the head
There wasn't a lot of malice in it, but if you're 100 stone and you knee someone in the temple, chances are that's the result. He knew what he was doing.
99.9% of the time the defender would jump the player.
In cases like this it's either a red or nothing , intentional or not , yellow would not suffice. Don't get it twisted there should not have been any card awarded.
In my opinion ^
I thought all of Dylan's reds were also harsh!!! ^^^
