A strong first-half display puts the hosts in front here as they dominated posession and play. Oyonnax drew first blood from the boot of Regis Lespinas. It was short-lived, however, as Luke McAlister's delightful chip was collected by Florian Fritz who offloaded to the oncoming Talalelei Gray. Sébastian Bézy was in good kicking form maintaing his 100% record with a conversion and two penalties. Oyonnax were down to fourteen men after 28 minutes when Villiami Maafu was sent to the bin for cynical play but the decision seemed harsh.
