England take an 11-7 lead over Wales into halftime. England missed an early penalty, with Wales scoring the opening points with a try ten minutes in to lead 7-0. England hit back with their first score shortly after to trail 7-5. Wales then missed a shot at goal around the midpoint of the half. England edged ahead with a penalty on the half hour mark and would add a second penalty just before the break to hold a four point advantage.
