2023 World Cup draw postponed

2023 World Cup draw postponed

Originally set down for 30 November, the draw for the 2023 World Cup in France has been shifted to 14 December, according to a report in rugby365.com.

The postponement is due to complications arising as a result of Covid-19, which was confirmed Claude Atcher, chief executive of the tournament.

“It’s a key step which will allow us to identify the match-ups and the locations of games,” said Atcher. “Tickets will still go on sale in March.”

All the teams who managed to finish in the top three of their pools are granted automatic entrance into the tournament. They are: South Africa, France, England, Australia, Argentina, Fiji, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Japan, Scotland and Wales.
