6 Nations in talks with CVC Capital Partners about selling commercial shares

The Six Nations are understood to be in negotiations with CVC Capital Partners, the private equity firm who recently secured a 27% stake in Premiership Rugby Limited, about selling a share in their own commercial future to the firm.

The Six Nations is seeking to aggregate their television rights in order to reap a bigger dividend, and are in advanced negotiations over a new collective deal also incorporating their autumn Test matches which could come into place from 2022 onwards, writes Irish Times.

The talks are in early stages but the unions that make up Six Nations Championship are actively looking for a new financial platform and selling a share to CVC has become an option. The firm declined to comment on Saturday.
