All Blacks call in duo to extended squad

All Blacks call in duo to extended squad

Steve Hansen has added Hurricanes hooker Ricky Riccitelli and Highlanders lock Jackson Hemopo to his All Blacks squad for the final Test against France.

Towering 'Landers second-rower Hemopo will provide cover at lock with loose forward duo Vaea Fifita (concussion) and Liam Squire (shoulder) both under injury clouds.

South-African born Riccitelli has been called in as cover in the extended squad for Nathan Harris who has left the camp for the birth of his first child.

"When I got the call I was obviously pretty stoked," Riccitelli said. "It's cool to be called back into the side. I'm really looking forward to a good week's training with the boys."

Beauden Barrett is also suffering from concussion symptoms following his head knock suffered in the 12th minute of the second Test and will not travel to Dunedin with the team.

“There’s no point putting him under extra pressure of the travel, when he can stay at home and rest and come down tomorrow or not come down at all. We won’t take any risk with him.” said Steve Hansen.
