All the action from Round 8 of MLR

It was a competitive round packed with close results this week in Major League Rugby, the largest points difference between two teams being only 6.

NOLA and Sabercats kicked off proceedings at The Gold Mine. A richly entertaining game saw NOLA 7 points in the lead as the half-time whistle blew. However, it was the Sabercats who bossed the second half and clawed their way back into the driver’s seat but, at the death, NOLA fought back and scored a late try with the subsequent conversion sealing the result for them. Final score: 28-26.

A massive comeback from the Free Jacks was rewarded with a victory as they squared off against Gilgronis. The latter led 11-5 at the break but the Free Jacks rolled up their sleeves in the second half and made the game their own. Final score: 22-18.

Rugby ATL snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, scoring in the 80th minute for a 33-29 win against the Toronto Arrows at Alumni Field (York University).

Zions Bank Stadium was the venue of an enormous contest as Utah Warriors took on Old Glory. The visitors looked as if they would take the result as the clock ticked towards the game’s conclusion, however, Warriors’ centre Mika Kruse dived over at the death to give his team victory. Final score: 34-33.

It was east coast vs west coast in the penultimate game of the round as Rugby United NY took a 2-point victory over LA Giltnis (18-16) at MCU Park before the round concluded with the Seattle Seawolves triumphing over SD Legion, 21-15.
