Ampthill name team to face London Scottish

Ampthill travel to The Athletic Ground to face London Scottish under the Friday Night Lights looking to build on the impressive win against Coventry two weeks ago that saw three Ampthill players selected for the Championship Team of the Week.

Ampthill’s last visit to Scottish resulted in a 28-19 win to The Mob, but only after the hosts had taken a 19-7 lead into half time.

Turner makes six changes to the XV that started against Coventry. James Flynn and Luke Green start again at prop with Kapeli Pifeleti at hooker in place of Samson Adejimi. Joe Peard returns to partner Kaden Pearce-Paul in the engine room.

Nathan Michelow and Josh Smart join club captain Morgan Strong at the base of the scrum.

In the back division, Charlie Bracken is partnered by Gwyn Parks in the half backs, Fraser Strachan returns to renew his partnership with Oli Morris in midfield while a back three of Tobias Elliot on the right, Brandon Jackson on the left and Tom Bacon at full back will look to light up the RAG.

Recent signings Joe Green and Josh Barton will again aim to make an impression from the bench after both played 80 minutes for the 1881s last weekend.

Ahead of the game, Turner said: “Scottish will be a tough challenge under the lights. The Athletic Ground is never an easy place to visit, and we’ll need to be at our best again on Friday night to get the result we want.”
