Analysis | How Tom Wright scored his try
Tom Wright scored Australia's third try in the 29th minute after Joseph Sua'ali'i carved the Lions open from halfway , but how did he manage to do that?

Lets take a look at the buildup and finish.

1. Australia have a breakdown on their own 10m, 3m from the touchline.

2. Key to this play is the width Tom Lynagh keeps. The pass from Jake Gordon is 12 meters and cuts out 3 defenders.

3. Lynagh plays Fraser McReight with Rob Valetini on his outside, who keeps Tom Curry and Bundee Aki close to to the contact point.

4. Curry does well to "swim" through the contact point when he sees the ball go out the back to Len Ikitau. Ikitau does well to draw Curry and play Sua'ali'i.

5. Sua'ali'i sees that Aki and Curry have left a gap. He steps of the left foot and excellerates through.

6. The speed from the outside center means Curry is too slow to catch him and Aki is too slow to turn around and tackle him.

7. Andrew Porter shows great workrate to get to him but slips off the tackle.

8. A early pass from Sua'ali'i means Wright have more time on the ball to beat Jamison Gibson-Park.

9. A great link play between the forwards and backs.

Key points

-All the passes were infront of the players.

-The hard line from Valetini meant Curry had to stick for a split second

-If Ikitau kept the ball longer the defence would have had time to close Sua'ali'i down

-The speed from Sua'ali'i and early pass
