Australian international Adam Coleman signs for London Irish

London Irish has today confirmed the signing of Adam Coleman ahead of the 2019/20 season.

“We have a strong set of forwards, but know that we need strength in depth if we want to be competitive," commented London Irish director of rugby Declan Kidney.

"Adam is a quality player and we’re delighted he has chosen to come and join London Irish. We are looking forward to welcoming him to Hazelwood later in the year.”

The first Tasmanian-born player to represent Australia since the Second World War, Coleman is also the son of a former Tonga international captain, Pau’u Afeaki. While his Super Rugby debut came for New South Wales Waratahs in 2011, it was after moving to Perth to join Western Force that his career ignited with a series of powerful displays in Super Rugby.

Coleman received his call-up to the Wallabies squad in 2016, which is where he has remained since, starting in 29 of his 31 international appearances.

He moved to Melbourne to join the Rebels in 2017.
