Brian O’Driscoll: The All Blacks can’t match Ireland’s midfield

Speaking on the Off The Ball, former Ireland centre Brian O'Driscoll compared the current Irish midfield to that of the All Blacks.

When asked if Ireland's Ireland's midfield is as good as that of the All Blacks, the former Irish captained said: 'I think we are better than them'

The 40-year-old went on to explain that he felt that the All Blacks haven't been able to replace their World Cup-winning midfield partnership of Ma'a Nonu and Conrad Smith.

He also discussed the Ireland midfield and the potential of Robbie Henshaw and Garry Ringrose as a centre pairing.

O’Driscoll went on to say that Beauden Barrett's brilliance since the World Cup has made life easier for his centres while Sonny Bill Williams hadn't met the standards he previously set.

He also went on to say that he would only select an inform and fit Sonny Bill Williams over an Irish centre.
