Caelan Doris to have shoulder surgery

Ahead of Saturday’s BKT United Rugby Championship game against Zebre Parma at Aviva Stadium (KO: 5.15pm), Leinster Rugby Head Coach Leo Cullen has issued an injury update. There is good news in the return of James Ryan and Rob Russell to full fitness and both will take part in training this week. However, definitely ruled out of the game is captain Caelan Doris who will undergo a procedure this week on a shoulder injury picked up in Saturday’s game against Northampton Saints.

The full extent of the injury, and implications for the summer, won’t be known until after the procedure.

There is no new update on Jordan Larmour, Will Connors and Brian Deeny.
