Champions Cup final: Head-to-head battle

Saracens will be looking to make it nine wins from nine in the final as they host Leinster at St James’ Park.

Here are the key head-to-head battles for the upcoming clash:

Billy Vunipola vs Jack Conan

A very dominant player for England and Saracens, Billy Vunipola has made 73 carries in this year's Champions Cup for Saracens while Leinster no. 8 Jack Conan has made 88 having played 7 of 8 games.

Conan will record his 87th appearance for Leinster tomorrow and has scored 105 points for the club.

Brad Barritt vs Robbie Henshaw

Brad Barritt has had a few injury concerns for Saracens, with his most recent being an ankle injury of his own suffered late in the quarter-final victory over Glasgow Warriors three weeks ago.

The Saracens captain boasts a tackle success rate of 96% while versatile Henshaw, who will take the field for his 35th appearance for Leinster, sees 76% tackle success.

Schalk Burger vs Max Deegan

Springboks legend Schalk Burger has played 86 Tests for the Springboks between 2003 and 2015, and will at the end of this season leave Saracens since joining the club in 2016.

The 35-year-old will head into the Champions Cup final looking to add to his 59 tackles and 38 carries in what will be his final season with the club.

On the other hand, Deegan made the most of his opportunities during last season for Leinster, taking his Leinster cap tally to 21 and his try-scoring tally to 5.

Mako Vunipola vs Tadgh Furlong

Vunipola and Furlong are exceptionally good in defence and possess a very high work rate on the field with strong carries.

Furlong will make his 100th appearance for Leinster tomorrow in Newcastle. The 26-year-old made his debut in November 2013 off the bench against the Dragons.
