Charlie Ewels cleared to play

Charlie Ewels of Bath Rugby appeared before an independent disciplinary panel. Ewels was cited by Independent Citing Commissioner Paul Hull and charged with making a dangerous tackle on Gloucester’s Henry Trinder contrary to law 10.4(e). The incident occurred in the second half of the match Bath Rugby v Gloucester on Sunday 29 October 2017.

The citing was dismissed by the panel so Ewels is free to play with immediate effect.

The chairman of the panel Gareth Graham said: “The panel was satisfied that an act of foul play had been committed but concluded that this dangerous tackle did not meet the red card threshold. Accordingly, the citing was dismissed and the player is free to play with immediate effect.”

The independent disciplinary panel comprised of Gareth Graham (chairman) with Daniel White and Jamie Corsi.
