Clark pens new Bath deal

Bath Rugby have confirmed that Max Clark has signed a new contract with the Club.

The Bath Rugby Academy product is nearing half a century of appearances for the Blue, Black and White after making his first team debut in the 47-7 victory against London Welsh in 2014.

A powerful and agile runner, Clark has made 12 appearances in all competitions this season and brings a great deal of energy to the midfield.

Clark said: “Bath is where I’ve spent all my professional career and I just want to keep progressing as a player. With the players around me I’ve been able to do just that, so it’s now about taking my chances when I get the opportunity to pull on the shirt.

“There’s a great deal of depth in the midfield at the Club, but my focus is making that position my own and helping Bath to achieve. We’re going in the right direction and I’m really excited about the potential of this squad.”

Director of Rugby, Todd Blackadder, added: “Max has been unfortunate with injuries over the last 18 months, but he’s got a really bright future in front of him.

“The recruitment of Jackson (Willison) and Jamie (Roberts) at the start of the season has really made him grow as a player. He’s not only developed his skill-set from working with those around him, but he’s shown that real fight and determination to get back into the squad. That’s exactly the mentality we’re looking for and it will only continue to drive that competition for places.”
