A game that will live long in the memory of Irish fans as they hammered England at Croke Park. After losing their first ever game at Croke Park to France a week earlier they responded with one of the finest performances by an Irish side. Tries from Dempsey, Wallace, Horgan and Boss and the boot of O’Gara gave them a 43-13 win against the old enemy. In the end Ireland missed out on the Six Nations title with France crowned champions while England finished in third.
