Jack Carty - Connacht
Jack Carty put in a great outhalf performance for Connacht tonight in their victory over Ulster at The Sportsground. His kicking out of hand was exceptional as he found touch time and time again and was on hand to relieve the pressure on his teammates when necessary. He was 4/6 from the tee which is a very impressive tally given the incredibly difficult conditions in Galway tonight. He showed a lot of leadership with his game management, kicking at the right times and knowing when to try carve out an attack.
Cian Kelleher - Connacht
Cian Kelleher was exceptional on the wing tonight. His electric pace and silky footwork had the Ulster defence in knots throughout this game. He made coutnless scintillating breaks and was also very solid in defence. He proved himself under the high ball on several occassions which I'm sure will delight his manager as he's beginning to look like a really exciting prospect for the future of Connacht rugby. His hard work and detrmination was rewarded with two excellently taken tries. He was also instrumental in setting up another of his team's tries. Overall it was an outstanding perofrmance from the young man.
Paddy Jackson - Ulster
Paddy Jackson was Ulster's best peformer tonight in what was a difficult evening for them. He was 4/5 from the tee which is excellent as there were near gale force winds swirling around The Sportsground tonight. He managed the game well at times, his touch kicking was for the moist part very good and he sent a few very clever kicks into the corners that had the Connacht defence scrambling. He marshalled his backline well and used his excellent range of passing at times to set his team mates free. Overall, a disappointing performance by Ulster but Jackson can be happy with his efforts in this difficult fixture.
