Eimear Corri-Fallon

On the match against Spain:

"We definitely wanted to attack faster again, which I think we did. We put Spain under pressure, getting our first try within the first kind of seven minutes. Momentum then flipped a bit but we’re definitely going after the same things."

On the success rate of the set-pieces:

"As forwards we take a lot of pride in our set-piece. That's a great launcher for our backs and if we can be dominant in those areas, we have such pace out wide and in the middle of the pitch. The try we scored off that maul goes to show how effective we can be. It's an area that we’re proud of."

On the Brighton stadium nearly being sold out:

"We’re hugely aware that it’s been sold out before the World Cup even kicked off. We’re hugely excited by the occasion. We’ve moved locations so to see our friends and family in a new place, it has given us a reset. We’ve taken it game by game but now we’re here, now we know so many Irish people are coming, we’re so looking forward to getting out on that pitch."

Nancy McGillivray

On her second cap against Spain:

"I was very excited to be out there. To be in the World Cup already, it’s an unreal experience. I couldn’t ask for anything better. I got a good 20 minutes against Spain, who are a very good team, so I’m very grateful."

On what advice she would give to a young girl wanting to start playing rugby:

"Ask whoever is in rugby what it’s about. Even just watching telly now, there’s so much women’s rugby out there, you can get loads of inspiration from that. I would say: just jump right in. The reason I keep playing rugby is the people you meet on the way, you make friends for life, sisters for life. It’s like a big family."

Denis Fogarty, assistant coach

On captain Sam Monaghan’s injury and thoughts on selecting certain players given they are already through to the quarter-finals:

“She (Monaghan) stepped aside out of precaution. She was not moving well after the hit during the game. But now, after the install session today, everyone is ready and in contention.

"First and foremost for us, if people are fit and ready to play we want to get them on the park because ultimately we're going out to perform and win the game. That's been the goal for us all this time. I understand that there's a quarter-final but the way we've been building and training, we're fully focused on this game, to make sure that we have the performance in place to give us that momentum to take us into the quarter-finals. So if people are ready to play we'll want to get them on the pitch."

On whether they're expecting a reaction from the Black Ferns (having beaten them last September):

"It's probably a natural thing that you want to get a reaction but we're expecting a huge physical battle without a doubt.

"Obviously they have incredible players and athletes all around the park so for us it's about making sure we're on it, both from a set-piece point of view and a defensive point of view because we're very aware of the threats they have.

"It's about getting our game right, making sure we're playing in the right areas of the park, and not giving them easy entries. We've spoken about that and put things in place to make sure we don't do that.

"The challenge has stepped up, the margins are smaller, the games are tougher, but we are prepared and we prove that time and time again.”

Emily Lang

Comparisons between this week and the last time they played New Zealand:

“That was a different time. Then, personally I was still finding my place. Now I am steady, ready, more embedded into the team. We are all raring to go and looking forward for the challenge on the weekend.”

On the crowds getting bigger:

“This is the most exciting part, the crowd's support makes this feel like a home Rugby World Cup, to know there could be three times the amount of support there this weekend from games like Northampton I think is such a privilege."
