Damian Willemse makes a stirring return to the Springbok XV as he resumes his role at fullback for South Africa’s upcoming Test against Italy at Loftus Versfeld, marking his first appearance since the 2023 World Cup final. The two-time World Cup winner admits he's "a bit nervous" ahead of the clash but is buoyed by a memorable Loftus moment in 2022 when he kicked a last-minute penalty to secure victory over Wales.
