If this is to be the last of these end-of-season Barbarians fixtures, with England scheduled to play a full international next year to help fund their £13 million World Cup compensation agreement with Aviva Premiership clubs, it will not be missed by many.

The crowd was poor and the rugby competitive only until Thomas Waldrom was sent to the sin-bin after 18 minutes.
