David Humphreys has backed James Hook and insists his future remains in the fly-half jersey.
The versatile Welshman was hauled off after 52 minutes against London Welsh after failing to get the Cherry and Whites backline firing and missing several kicks at goal.
Gloucester led by just two points when Hook departed but they burst into life in the final quarter and racked up 31 unanswered points in the final 15 minutes.
Questions have been raised over Hook’s midfield partnership with Billy Twelvetrees but Humphreys insists the 29-year-old will improve with time.
