Defence keeping Wales in the contest

Wales got out to a quick start in their test match against Tonga after the visitors were down to 14 men and 7 points after only 2 minutes.

Fifita was binned for sacking a maul and the home side were awarded a penalty try. Biggar and Williams scored soon after as it look like it would be a walkover for the home side.

Tonga gained some momentum and scored 2 well worked forward dominant tries through Fifita and Mafi as they go into the break trailing by just 7 points.

The home side have had a bulk of the defensive work to do, tackling at 92% for the game and making close on double the amount of tackles. 70 tackles by the home side and a few line out steals helped them limp to half time.

Elliott Dee tops the carries and tackle count for the game so far with Watkin leading the meters run and Piutau the defenders beaten.
