The 2025/2026 season once again confirmed the TOP 14's momentum. The championship recorded a record average attendance of 16,256 spectators per match , a 10% increase over the last three seasons , while the TOP 14 Pennylane Playoffs were once again sold out. Sunday evening matches, meanwhile, attracted an average of 683,000 viewers on CANAL+ , a 15.4% increase compared to the previous season. These performances confirm the TOP 14's position as the world's leading professional rugby league.
The championship resumes on September 5th
It is in this dynamic that the 14 clubs of the TOP 14 will meet on September 5, 2026 for the first day of a new season full of promise.
From the first day, several matches will set the tone, including Stade Rochelais – Stade Toulousain , Union Bordeaux-Bègles – Racing 92 , Aviron Bayonnais – RC Toulon , as well as the return to the TOP 14 of Rugby Club Vannes on the pitch of Castres Olympique .
The highlights will continue throughout the season. Starting with the second round, on Saturday, September 12th , Stade Toulousain will host Union Bordeaux-Bègles in one of the most anticipated matches of the championship. Two weeks later, the fourth round, on Saturday, September 26th , will feature a rematch of the 2026 TOP 14 Final between Stade Toulousain and Montpellier Hérault Rugby .
Boxing Day on December 27th, Fans Days on April 24th
The traditional Boxing Day , organized during the 13th round, on Sunday, December 27, 2026 , will notably offer a Parisian derby between Racing 92 and Stade Français Paris , as well as a clash between Stade Toulousain and RC Toulon .
The Fan Days , scheduled for the 22nd round, on Saturday, April 24, 2027 , will once again put supporters in the spotlight in all the stadiums of the TOP 14, including Stade Toulousain - Castres Olympique , Union Bordeaux-Bègles - Stade Rochelais or Aviron Bayonnais - Section Paloise .
The Pennylane Finals begin on June 12th
Finally, the regular season of 2026/2027 will conclude on the weekend of June 5, 2027 , giving way to the TOP 14 Pennylane Playoffs, which will bring together the six best teams in the championship. The play-offs will be held on the weekend of June 12, 2027 , the semi-finals on the weekend of June 19, 2027 in Bordeaux , before the TOP 14 Final , played on June 26, 2027 at the Stade de France , which will crown the French champion and the winner of the legendary Brennus Shield .
