Double Injury blow for Wales

Double Injury blow for Wales

Scarlets' flank Aaron Shingler and uncapped Dragons wing Ashton Hewitt will miss the tour due to injuries.

Shingler's season came to an end when he limped off the field during Scarlets' 32-40 defeat to Leinster in the Pro 14 final. The severity of Singler's injury is unknown however the requirement of further assessment will prevent him from touring.

Cardiff Blues loose forward Josh Turnbull, who can also play lock, has been called into the squad ahead of their flight to Washington.

While Hewitt will miss the June Tests due to a shoulder injury that he sustained in training last week. Hewitt had been called up in place of Josh Adams after the Worcester wing was precluded due to Premier Rugby release restrictions.

Wales coach Warren Gatland has opted not to call in a replacement for him.
