European Challenge Cup Preview. Pool 4

In Pool 4 it is Edinburgh who lead the way with 16 points as they look to continue their 100% record in the competition. French sides Bordeaux Begles and Lyon are still in contention in the pool but to have any chance of making it through the knockout stages they will need to defeat a Edinburgh side who have enjoyed a successful season so far and sit 7th in the Pro12. London Welsh complete the group as they go in search of their first points in the competition.

Edinburgh travel to France to take on Lyon in round 5 in what will be a tricky game for the Scottish side. Lyon have a good record at home this season which includes wins against both Stade Francais and Clermont Auvergne. On their last three visits to France, Edinburgh have come away with two wins and will be looking to continue their 100% record in the competition with only them and Gloucester unbeaten so far in the competition.  Edinburgh won the reverse fixture between the sides and a win in Lyon will probably be enough to secure them a place in the last eight.

In the other game Bordeaux take on London Welsh with the French side looking for five points to put pressure on Edinburgh at the top. Bordeaux who have enjoyed a successful season in the Top 14 will look to put the pressure on Edinburgh at the top with a win against London Welsh. London Welsh who have no points to show after four games go into this game still looking for their first win this season. Bordeaux will be expected to win the game handsomely but with no pressure on the London Welsh side can they pick up a much needed win.
