Jack Nowell, the son of a Newlyn trawlerman, was one of the stars of last
season, with his Cornish back-story, his rat’s tail haircut, his arm-length
seaman’s tattoo, his bustling energy and unaffected self.
The Exeter wing
played throughout the Six Nations despite dropping the ball on his first
touch against France, a mistake that led to a try.
Nowell was tough, sturdy, edgy and busy.
He made things happen.
And to think
it was all effectively done on one leg.
On Sunday, he makes his first start of the season against Harlequins at Sandy
