It has been announced that Fetu'u Vainikolo will be leaving Exeter Chiefs at the end of the season to continue his career in France with Oyonnax on a two-year deal.
Vainikolo will be joining an Oyonnax side who are currently enjoying one of the best seasons in the clubs history as they close in on a place in the play-offs. After two seasons with Exeter Chiefs, Vainikolo has struggled to hold down a starting spot in the Chiefs side and will be hoping to secure some more first team Rugby when he begins his new life in France,
The Tongan international might have to wait until October to make his Oyonnax debut as he hopes to be selected for Tonga for the World Cup that begins in September.
The former Highlanders and Connacht winger leaves Sandy Park after 29 appearances for Rob Baxter’s side scoring 6 tries in his two seasons at the club.
