Scotland have lost their place in the World Rugby U20 Championship for 2020 following their 34-59 loss to Fiji in the relegation playoff.
Scotland last all five of their matches in this year's edition of the competition going down 43-19 to South Africa, 52-33 to New Zealand and 17-12 Georgia in the pool stages.
They went on to lose 19-26 Italy which sent them into the relegation playoff against Fiji.
Scotland had disappointing and could have missed the playoff game in the latter stages of the game against Italy as they scored two late tries but just couldn't get the final try to send the game into extra time.
The Fijians took the lead early in the match and handed it over once before taking advantage of Scotland's weaknesses. By halftime, Fiji had a comfortable lead that would've been sufficient to take the victory.
Scotland looked promising straight after the halftime break but never looked as though they might cancel out the deficit and eventually allowed Fiji to continue their try-scoring spree to eventually take their lead to 34-59, come fulltime.
Scotland will now have to compete in the U20s Trophy competition next year to try regain promotion for 2021.
