Five French Youngsters Who Could Shine In Japan

Five French Youngsters Who Could Shine In Japan

France's nightmare of the 2019 Six Nations is over and Jacques Brunel's side can now look ahead to the showpiece in Japan.

Although it was a tough championship for the French there was one thing that was clear and that is that Brunel must trust his youngsters more with the youngsters standing out for the side.

Here is our five picks of the players that must go to Japan and could turn things around for France.

Demba Bamba - 20 years old

After breaking through with the U20 side last year Bamba became the first PROD2 player to make his test debut despite still playing in the French second division.

Bamba has held his own against some of the toughest looseheads in test rugby and has been one France's best players in recent games.

Uini Atonio is likely to reclaim the starting jersey when he returns from injury but Bamba will certainly be a fantastic addition to the bench.

Thomas Ramos - 23 years old

At 23, Ramos is already one of the best fullbacks in France and can ignite the attack from deep. His positional play and goal kicking is superb and once he is given more time in the starting role the better he will get.

He set up a sensational try against Scotland and could be a real game-changer for France.

Antoine Dupont - 22 years old

The young halfback has nothing short of sensational since he has been given an opportunity to start in the 9 jersey and is quickly becoming one of the best scrumhalves in the game.

The live-wire scrumhalf should retain the starting jersey throughout the World Cup and could be key to any success France wish to have in Japan.

Gregory Alldritt -  21 years old

The young La Rochelle back rower enjoyed a stellar start to his test career scoring a brace off the bench against Scotland in just his second test match.

Alldritt can cover both blindside flank and no.8 and packs a serious punch on attack and defence. His form sees him pushing for a starting role but he could be a lethal weapon from the bench.

Matthieu Jalibert - 20 years old

Romain Ntamack is the man donning the France no.10 jersey at the moment but the young Toulouse star could be shifted in the France backline when the highly rated Jalibert returns to the test side.

Jalibert was handed a starting debut in the opening round of the 2018 Six Nations but he picked up an injury in that clash and has only recently returned from injury.

The talented youngster could force Ntamack in the midfield to form an inexperienced but a promising and exciting backline.

Damian Penaud is another young star who could cause some havoc!
