Former Leinster playmaker set for Top 14 switch

Former Leinster playmaker Noel Reid is set to sign for Top 14 club Agen according to a report by La Dépêche du Midi.

Reid can play both centre and flyhalf with the latter the club have been eager to fill since the departure of Australian Jake McIntyre. Noel Reid joined Leiceter Tigers ahead of the 2019/20 season having kicked off his career at Leinster who he represented between 2012 and 2019.

The move to the TOP14 comes after Reid was one of five players who was officially released from the club after they failed to come to a new agreement with the club over new contracts.

The 30-year-old made a century of appearances for Leinster and was capped by Ireland in 2014. He will joins fellow Leicester Tigers back Telusa Veainu in moving to France.

Agen were reportedly in talks with Springbok flyhalf Elton Jantjies as well as Harlequins pivot Brett Herron with move deals falling through according to La Dépêche du Midi.
