Four Wasps laid low by injury after Bath win

While Wasps’ celebrated a much-needed victory at The Rec. on Monday evening when they beat Bath 27-23, their elation came at a price as four of their players picked up injuries within the space of 30 minutes.

Head coach Lee Blackett earlier gave an update on the condition of Thomas Young, Tommy Taylor, Lima Sopoaga and Gabriel Oghre (Taylor’s replacement).

"They [Young and Oghre] are going through tests at the moment,” Blackett said. “Both of them seem to have done alright in the first block. It's six days minimum for that so we will see where that is. They've started the HIA protocols."

On Lima Sopoaga, Blackett shed light:

“He's had a precautionary scan on hamstring, I don't think it is too serious. He didn't train today  [Wednesday], don't think he will be out for too long."

Taylor was struck by injury just two minutes after Sopoaga and viewed the remainder of the game from the sidelines with a strapped leg.

"He's been for a scan and we're getting the results shortly on his ankle,” Blackett added. “Tommy is the more of the concern out of those four."

Wasps travel to Allianz Park on Saturday to face Saracens.
