Venditti joins Falcons: Italian international Giovanbattista Venditti has joined Premiership side Newcastle Falcons on a two year deal. The 25-year-old makes the switch to Newcastle from Pro12 side Zebre with a reputation as a powerful wing, who can also play at centre. Venditti is an experienced player and has amassed 27 caps with his national side and has also made 49 appearances in the PRO12 league for Zebre. "I'm really excited about the move and the team, it is a big experience for me and my family and I can't wait," a proud Venditti said.
Giteau full of praise for Clermont: Toulon star Matt Giteau reckons opposition in tomorrow's finial Clermont Auvernge go into this game at favourites. The Australian international said, "Clermont are a very beautiful team. To me, they're the best team this season because they've played well all the time and got the job done, I think they're the favourites this weekend, although in such a big game it's not about being the favourites, the important thing is to win. Their qualities make it hard to say that one player is better than the others," Giteau told the EPCR website. Toulon are aiming to make history as they look to be the first side to win 3 European titles in a row.
