Gateshead Thunder In Newcastle Name Change

Gateshead Thunder, the only professional rugby league club in the north east, have confirmed a change of name to Newcastle Thunder. The change has been approved by the Rugby Football League and takes place with immediate effect. The club has also applied to Newcastle City Council to officially change home venue to Kingston Park to groundshare with partner club Newcastle Falcons.
