Goosen sidelined for at least 2 months

Montpellier utility back Johan Goosen is set to spend the next two months on the sidelines after suffering an injury against Toulon this past weekend.

Initial reports suggested that the Springbok could miss the remainder of the season but scans have revealed that Goosen has just suffered a bad sprain and not a break.

Had he fractured his ankle he would have been out of action for four to five months at least.

The injury, however, rules him out of action for the opening rounds of the Champions Cup as well as a potential recall to the Springbok squad ahead of the November Tests.
