Goosen to join Montpellier next season

Former Racing 92 and Springbok international Johan Goosen will come out of retirement to join Top 14 leaders Montpellier on a three-year deal from the 2018-19 season.

Mohamed Altrad, owner of Montpellier, has come to an agreement with Racing 92's Jacky Lorenzetti to buy the Burgersdorp native out of his contract for a fee believed to be around €1.4 million.

Goosen walked out on his Racing contract in January last year to take up a role as a commercial director with a stud-farm based in Bloemfontein.

The talented flyhalf/fullback has 13 Springbok caps to his name since making his debut against Australia back in 2012.

He last played for South Africa against Wales in November 2016, shortly before his announced his departure from professional rugby.
