Halfpenny may return to the Blues

Bringing back Leigh Halfpenny might seem like a longshot but chief executive Richard Holland hopes a move for the Wales and British and Irish Lions full-back might be possible. Halfpenny is heading into his second year with Toulon with the option of a third season to come.
European glory in his first season in France made Halfpenny’s first campaign outside Wales a success, as the full-back successfully took over the kicking duties from the retired Jonny Wilkinson once he was passed fit.
Halfpenny moved to Toulon from the Blues and because of a potential clash between next year’s Top 14 Final and Wales Test series against the All Blacks.
“We will discuss recruitment plans with our new coach Danny Wilson but clearly it would be daft not to try and get a player of Leigh’s caliber back to the Arms Park,” Holland said to WalesOnline.
“We are ambitious and want to be competitive at the top end of club and regional rugby and are interested in any player that becomes available, be it on a dual contract or a regional deal.
