Heaslip - We Didn't Make Life Easy For Ourselves
Ireland captain Jamie Heaslip pinpointed his side’s poor start as a major factor in their World Cup exit to Argentina.
The Six Nations champions were in the end thrashed 43-20 as Argentina’s attacking game was successful time and again.
“Obviously we're very disappointed to lose in such a big game. We didn't help ourselves at the start. We came back in it but did not help ourselves,” he said.
"Argentina play an expansive game. We didn't make life easy for ourselves at times.
"To be fair to Argentina, they took their scores and they took their opportunities to kick on.
"We got back in the game, got it back to three points, but couldn't take our opportunities.”
