Henry looking to put past disappointments behind him
Ireland flanker Chris Henry is hoping to make up for his personal disappointment of missing out on the 2011 Rugby World Cup by making the cut for the 2015 tournament.

Henry has recovered fully from surgery to fix a heart defect and is in contention to make the final 31-man squad selected by Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt at the end of August.

Looking back on four years ago, Henry revealed how missing out has driven him on over the last four years.

"When David Wallace got injured it was Shane Jennings who was brought out," Henry told the Belfast Telegraph.

"Then, when Jamie (Heaslip) was an injury doubt, it was Kevin McLaughlin who was going to be selected, so I was left gutted.

"I feel my game has come on massively in the last four years and I'd be lying if I said the World Cup hasn't been a goal.”
