New Zealand secured third place at the Rugby World Cup with a 40-17 win over Wales in the Bronze Final. New Zealand started strongly, running in two early tries to build a 14-0 lead. Wales responded with a try midway through the first half and added a penalty shortly after to reduce the deficit to just four points at 14-10. However, the All Blacks would finish the first half as they started it, going over for a further two tries to take a 28-10 advantage into the break. New Zealand got off to the perfect start in the second half with an early try pushing their lead out to 35-10. Wales responded with their second try of the match halfway through the second half, but the All Blacks would have the final say, crossing for a late score to seal a comfortable victory to claim bronze at the tournament.
