Ireland's 2019 RWC Fixtures

Ireland's 2019 RWC Fixtures

Ireland was drawn alongside Japan, Scotland, Europe 1 and Play-Off Winner in Pool A for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in March earlier this year.

Today World Rugby confirmed the fixtures for the World Cup with Ireland and Scotland set to clash in the opening round of the tournament.

Ireland will be looking to make their first Rugby World Cup semi-final having played in the quarter-finals at all but two tournaments. Strangely, Ireland has never played either South Africa or England in an RWC match - this could change if Ireland top the pool and South Africa finish as runners-up in pool B.

Fixtures:

Ireland kick their Rugby World Cup off on 22 September 2019 against Scotland the International Stadium in Yokohama. (08:45 Irish time)

Next up for Ireland is a return to the Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa six days later on for the game against hosts Japan. (08:15 a.m. Irish time).

Ireland played at the Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa on their Summer Tour in June of this year, beating Japan 50 - 22, notching up seven tries in the process.

Ireland's third Pool A fixture will see them play in the Kobe Misaki Stadium against the Europe 1 qualifier on Thursday, October 3rd. (Kick off 11:15 Irish Time)

Thier final match in the pool stages will see Ireland travel to the Hakatanomori Football Stadium in Fukuoka to face the RWC Play-Off winner on Saturday, October 12th. (Kick off 11:45 Irish time)
