Ireland Lose Their Inspirational Leader

Ireland Lose Their Inspirational Leader
Irish Skipper is out of the RWC after suffering a significant hamstring injury. He will undergo surgery this week.

Paul O'Connell  first captained Ireland in 2004 with the absence of Brian O'Driscoll. With over 170 Munster Appearances he has become one of Ireland's greatest rugby hero's and many hoped he would lead them on to World Cup glory in this World Cup.

Sadly that all came to an end in their final Pool game with France where he suffered a terrible hamstring injury from a ruck clear out. Ireland look set to compete in the rest of the World Cup without their inspirational leader and line out expert.

Tuesday morning it was announced that Paul O'Connell was forced to leave the squad due to his injury and will be replaced by Mike McCarthy
