Irony in strange Sanzar Steyn appeal

The Cell C Sharks are to appeal against the timing of the unprecedented appeal hearing brought by Sanzar against the not guilty verdict delivered following the hearing into Frans Steyn’s alleged tip tackle on Aaron Cruden in a Vodacom Super Rugby match in Durban last week.


Earlier this week Judicial Hearing Chairman Jannie Lubbe SC found Steyn not guilty of contravening Law 10.

4 (j) related to lifting tackling after he was sent off by referee Angus Gardner in the 28th minute of the match between the Sharks and the Chiefs at Kings Park last Saturday.
