Is Reinach and Snyman Starting to Put Pressure on Rassie?

Northampton Saints star Cobus Reinach and Blue Bulls hardman RG Snyman put in massive performances on Tuesday as the Springboks thumped Canada 66-7 at the Kobe Misaki Stadium.

Reinach, who replaced Faf de Klerk in the starting XV, who should've been named Man of the Match saw the Springboks out score their opponents 10 tries to one. The former Sharks No. 9 crossed the white line three times and two of the tries were wonderful individual efforts.

The 29-year-old, Reinach, made 79 metres with the ball in hand, beat five defenders and also had two clean breaks on attack. On defence, he made 100% of his tackles in his 51 minutes on the field and even got himself on the turnover sheet which is impressive for a scrum-half.

Reinach arguably outplayed Herschel Jantjies, who came off the bench, and his kicking precision seems to be head and shoulders ahead of Faf de Klerks.

The other top performer today was RG Snyman and Erasmus will be delighted that he really used his skills to his maximum. The lock, who was named the official Man of the Match, was elusive with his running and hit the rucks extremely hard. On attack, Snyman made 50 metres, carried the ball up nine times, beat four defenders and finished it off with two clean breaks.

Snyman’s two performances will really give Rassie a few sleepless nights as he could be pushing the likes of Eben Etzebeth for a starting position. The Stormers star has not been at his best this World Cup but his presence is something that still strikes fear into opposition.
