Israel Folau on track to break world's try-scoring record

Wallabies star Israel Folau heads into Sunday's Rugby Championship fixture against Los Pumas with the world record for most Tries in a calendar year in sight.

After notching his 11th Test try of 2017 in the Wallabies' 27-27 draw last Saturday with South Africa, Folau eclipsed Lote Tuquiri previous record set 13 years ago.

Folau has a strike rate of more than a Try a game this season and needs just 6 more scores to equal the tallies of Daisuke Ohata (2002) & Joe Rokocoko (2003).

With doubles against Fiji, Scotland & Italy in 2017, the former NRL superstar became the first Australian to cross twice in three successive Tests.

The Waratahs full-back scintillating form has seen his rise to fifth in the all-time Wallaby tryscorers' charts.
