Spent four nights in hospital and is now back in the England camp. Another body blow for the flying winger ahead of #rwc2019
Nowell has not played since injuring his ankle in their Premiership final against Saracens back in June but has been included in England’s 31-man World Cup squad.
As a result, Nowell has been ruled out of Friday's game against Italy in Newcastle having spent four nights in hospital recovering before he joined the rest of his England team-mates back at their training camp just north of Venice.
John Mitchell commented on the injury: "Jack was sick.
"He had appendicitis and came out of hospital yesterday, so he returned to us last night. He went in about a week ago."
Mitchell added: "He's in good spirits. He's running. It's a sickness that you can't deal with too much and you lose a bit of weight, but we back Jack.
"It's about being supportive and making sure he gets healthy."
