Jamie Roberts on his way to Cape Town?

Bath centre and decorated veteran of professional rugby, Jamie Roberts, has reportedly signed a deal with Cape Town-based Super Rugby side the Stormers ahead of the 2020 season.

The 33-year-old – who featured in the 2009 and 2013 British & Irish Lions tours – started his career with Cardiff RFC before getting a call-up to the Cardiff Blues team in 2007, making his debut against the Ospreys.

Following 80 appearances for Cardiff, the experienced Welshman spent two seasons with French Top 14 side Racing Metro in the French Top 14 and played 16 games, scoring once during his first season at the Parisian club, his appearances were restricted by an injury which also caused him to miss the 2013 Autumn series.

May 2017 saw him being named as Wales captain to lead his country on their summer tour against Tonga & Samoa, with 91 caps to his name.

Should the reports be true, Roberts will join the Stormers following game time for Bath Rugby and three years with Harlequins.
