Jared Saunders signs for the Exiles

Jared Saunders is the newest signing at The Athletic Ground after agreeing to join the club from Jersey Reds.

The 27-year-old made seventeen appearances for Jersey Reds this season, despite a mid-season injury, and was a key part of their devastating forward pack, which turned over Scottish four times last season.

Director of Rugby Dave Morris was thrilled to add Jared to next season’s squad.

Morris said: “Jared has been in some very good environments and will bring a level of physicality needed for us to be successful in the Championship next season.

"Speaking to Jared, I felt he showed good self-awareness about his transition from the Premiership to the demands of the Championship, and importantly, he still has aspirations to return to the top level.

"He will bring a good energy to our environment as well as his experience to impart on our younger players.”

Saunders is the third hooker of next season’s squad as he joins returning Army Vice-Captain Pete Austin and new Loughborough University addition Ollie Adams.
